Families fighting for justice, were formed in June 2008, when Jean Taylor, a mother of two children who had been murdered, set up a trip to Downing street to hand over petitions to the Prime minister to try and change the law for the sentencing of murder and manslaughter in this country. We are a 'none political', none profitable group. We have no discriminations against anyone, everyone is welcome at FFFJ.
After advertising in the Liverpool Echo, other families from the wirral and Liverpool joined her on the coach to the capital. There we met families of other murder victims from around the country.
Since then the group have had regular meetings once a month, and also had a march in the Liverpool city centre in October 2008. Local radio station 'City talk fm' dedicated a whole day to our cause, and the Liverpool Echo and Real Radio have given us plenty of coverage too.
As well as being a 'campaign' group, we have all become very good friends and have been there to help each other with all kinds of problems. It is different from other organisations, as we are not only welcoming other people in our position, but also anyone who feels strongly about the justice system.
We have many things planned for the future, in our fight for justice.
